The term “moviNAND™” might give the impression of a mobile product. In fact, this non-volatile memory is especially designed for portable devices. In other words, moviNAND™ is a built-in memory card and product that helps to meet continually increasing demand for greater storage capacity for audio and video. 

moviNAND™ made of 3 main structures:
1.MMC Controller
2.MLC Nand Flash
3.Regulator

In addition to FBGA package and 8 IO pins for its hardware operation, moviNAND™ follows the exact same operation procedure as the MMC card, and can reach 8 bites per single transmission. CLK Pin is used to control the data frequency. Owing to the fact that moviNAND™ operation procedure share the same characteristics as the MMC card, moviNAND™ is also generally known as “eMMC” (embedded MMC) with Ware Leveling and Bad Block Management of MLC operate by the MMC Controller. The greatest advantage of this product is to save a significant time on creating unnecessary software. To expand or reduce the built-in memory storage capacity, you simply add or replace the card to curtail the debugging time. The use of FBGA package helps to minimize space on PCB and further meet market demand on handy and small sized products. The storage capacity ranges from 512MB to 16GB and can all be sharing the same PCB footprint. This helps to save up tremendous time on R&D and avoids the awkward situation of repeatedly generating and cleaning the PCB for different footprints.
